Let’s be honest. The big question on many people’s minds during the wedding process for women is: What’s the plan for bachelorette party? It will be one of the most exciting evenings of your life, so it has to be something snazzy. We all know it’s the wedding party’s job to plan the big soiree, but here are some perfect girls’ getaway suggestions to kick-start the brainstorming process. (Note: We highly recommend emailing this list to your team as a not-so-subtle hint.)

STILETTO SPY SCHOOL

While watching movies like Charlie’s Angels and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, we were all slightly unimpressed, secretly thinking, “I could do that. I just never had the chance!” (And in my mental picture, I always looked better than Angelina Jolie.) For those who actually want to try their hand at sexy Jane Bond moves, the Stiletto Spy School can help you learn all those incredible action moves without breaking an ankle. With locations in New York City and Las Vegas, this school has missions that include lessons in handling firearms, hand-to-hand combat, deception detection and seduction. The New York City program has single day missions, while the Las Vegas program has a three-day mission program. Custom events are available, and pricing varies depending on location and mission.

KARAOKE NIGHT

At one point of another, we’ve all had enough liquid courage to sing classics like Bohemian Rhapsody or Wagon Wheel at an open-mike night. The drawback to karaoke is, of course, listening to the tone-deaf and slightly-too-drunk strangers. Some karaoke bars are being revamped to provide a more private and intimate experience.

One of the hottest trends for bars across the nation is offering private rooms, allowing groups a delightful honor of hogging the mike. Popular in places like China and Japan, this “Asian-style karaoke” is perfect for a wedding party. Keep the drinks coming and keep the video camera (permanently) on. Now the only thing to decide is: who is going to sing Baby Got Back?

CAMPING

The bachelorette parties are a chance to get away from all the other wedding responsibilities. What better place to go than the countryside with fresh air and nature? Pitch a group tent and huddle by a fire with s’mores and beer. Make sure to check out local weather to see if a meteor shower will happen.

If nature isn’t quite you’re thing, consider glamorous luxury camping, or “glamping.” Glamping is a growing trend where hotels and resorts prepare a more comfortable version of camping, including furniture, electricity and provided meals. These group packages can be found in woodsy, remote places, like The Resort at Paws Up in Montana (which we reviewed here), or on city rooftops, like AKA Central Park in New York City.

COOKING CLASS

For those of us who like to get our hands dirty in the kitchen, cooking and baking can be a hard thing to perfect. Luckily, the Culinary Institute of America hosts day-long gourmet classes for groups in New York, California and Texas. Specializing in either a cuisine or technique, these classes provide a hands-on instructional experience with chefs, a brief, educational lecture and time to practice preparing newly-learned dishes in the kitchen or bakeshop. Take your goodies home and hang out on the town to finish the night.

Still searching? Try something low-key such as a pool party or spa getaway, or go for adventure with a day at the local shooting range or a scavenger hunt (most major cities offer scavenger hunts—we’re big fans of Watson Adventures in New York City).
