When I first heard about Starbucks' public support for marriage equality, I was, ironically, in line at the coffee chain buying my daily skinny vanilla latte with extra foam. Of course, the news gave me a boost long before the caffeine kicked in, and I was immediately inspired by the twin-tailed siren for wedding day decor. After all, many couples find love at first sip (including Rosie O'Donnell and fiancee Michelle Rounds!), so why shouldn't java junkies incorporate the iconic logo and colors into their big day?

STATIONERY

Chips & Salsa Design Studio custom designed a coffee sleeve save the date for a couple who met in a Starbucks. This concept would also make for a cute RSVP card—instead of checking decaf, guests check their attendance status.

DECOR

Channel your local cafe into your reception, creating coffee shop allure with bold signage telling your love story. Fill vases or mason jars with coffee beans for the centerpieces, paired with full green and white blooms and write the menu on a chalkboard in true Starbucks style. 

COFFEE BAR

Keep the party going by serving up some of Starbucks’ coveted coffee during the reception. The coffee bar above, created by A to Zebra Celebrations, featured a variety of the sweet pastries, hot and cold espresso beverages and healthy snacks that was enjoyed by both young and old. Make sure guests' coffee stays warm while they're on the dance floor with caramel wafers, served resting atop the cup. The wafer traps steam, keeping the java warm while softening the caramel, turning the wafer into a sweet, delectable treat.

RING SHOT

Did your love brew over cups of bold Sumatra while local artists strung a guitar? Take the ring shot in the midst of a pile of coffee or espresso beans. The dazzling diamonds will look stunning contrasted against the dark beans.

Inspired by Starbucks small bites desserts, Jaime from Wicked Little Cake Company created a simple wedding cake complemented with homemade fluffy marshmallows, coffee beans and coffee mugs.  For a smaller, yet equally sweet version, opt for cake pops (delicious ones are sold at your local Starbucks) and top with an espresso bean.

FAVORS
