Where you book matters, especially now that travel giant Expedia has gone on record supporting marriage equality.

The Washington-based company, whose brand umbrella encases Hotels.com, Hotwire.com and Classic Vacations, came out in support of marriage equality, WUM and Referendum 74 on Tuesday.

"We strive to actively promote equality in our workplace and are committed to treating one another with respect and dignity," said Expedia CEO and President Dara Khosrowshahi in the announcement declaring support for marriage equality. "Supporting the legislation recently passed in Washington State—which provides same-sex couples with the same right to civil marriage that opposite-sex couples already enjoy—is a natural extension of our ongoing commitment to the LGBT community."

It follows the footsteps of several mega corporations in proclaiming their support such as T-Mobile, which donated $25,000 to Washington United for Marriage, Amazon, Microsoft, Recreational Equipment Inc. (REI) and Starbucks. Microsoft donated $200,000 and Amazon’s CEO, Jeff Bezos, donated $2.5 million to the state’s marriage equality efforts.
