Shopping for a couple’s wedding gift can be a daunting task, and not everyone likes to stick to the registry, which can be utterly boring. A set of white towels, no matter how soft, isn’t exciting. Sorry, dear couples registered at the typical department stores. You know I’m right. And there are guests who are looking for something more unique and personalized as a gift. I’ve found one with Alphabet Photography, which assembles photographs of objects that resemble letters, be they ferns, roses and plants or doorways, chairs and tables, to spell out a couple’s new shared last name or another special word, such as love, marriage or pride.
The company’s founder and gay-friendly photographer Jennifer Blakeley spent three years traveling and photographing objects and scenery that resemble letters of the English alphabet. Once Blakeley had photographed several variations from A to Z, she returned home to Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, and developed the photos in sepia tone.
