We’re kicking off the New Year with a bang: monthly issues of Equally Wed Magazine! Our quarterly format of longer features has served its purpose for two years, but now we’re ready to bring you more content every month. Our incredibly popular Real Weddings department is beefed up with a generous serving of nuptials of gay, lesbian, transgender, queer and bisexual couples. As promised, we’ve also increased our coverage of gay-friendly honeymoon destinations, planning, receptions, ceremonies, DIY ideas, color trends, fashion, beauty, grooming, legal advice and marriage equality news.

In this issue, we meet Jamie and Carrie, two fun-loving Southern transplants who tie their love of music into their Atlanta wedding; Annie and Sylvia, who celebrated their love for one another in a vintage-themed romantic wedding in Long Beach, Calif.; Lauren and Lauren, New Yorkers who married nautical concepts with a spiritual evening ceremony in Connecticut; and Jenna and Christina, whose Long Island, N.Y., 1920s-inspired wedding excited the bookworm in me with the brides’ library catalog cards for escort cards and use of an antique typewriter.

If you’re considering tying the knot in the frosty month of February, we’ve got you covered up with all sorts of fashionable dressings for dapper grooms and brooms, and style-savvy brides. Trending in women’s hair are short locks, and our newest staffer, Senior Editor Brittny Drye, talks to stylists for tips on rocking a myriad of looks.

From Equally Wed’s inception, we’ve always strived to deliver not only fun and fabulous ideas and inspiration for planning your wedding, but also important information to protect your relationship legally. Contributor Deanna Duff outlines how LGBT couples can pursue legal rights even in states where same-sex marriage is not yet legally recognized.

In Honeymoons, I outline the enchanting qualities of Banyan Tree Mayakoba on the Riviera Maya, from leisurely riding a bicycle alongside a landscape of twisted mangroves to lounging ocean-side sipping tequila concoctions while the warm sun toasted my skin.
