The Priscilla of Boston show on Saturday of Market (the bridal world’s version of Fashion Week) was the cherry on top of an already glamor-filled first day. There were five collections on the runway in total, but the continuity from line to line was flawless. As show-stopper after show-stopper floated down the runway, I found that I kept forgetting to breathe! Can you blame me? I didn’t want to miss a thing!

Throughout the evening, we were treated to stunning displays of gowns from Priscilla of Boston, The Vineyard Collection, Platinum Collection, Melissa Sweet, Jewel Collection and Reverie by Melissa Sweet. While each collection certainly had its own unique spirit and style (each was named after a flower that epitomized the idea behind the line), there were a few details that refined the collection as a whole.

I saw lots of curve hugging trumpet styles with traditionally feminine details. Bows, lace and flirty embellishments adorned all of the sleek silhouettes at the show, and it soon became evident that the Priscilla of Boston lines were all about duality. A girl doesn’t have to choose between looking sexy or sweet on her wedding day, she can have both.

To push the duality concept even further, convertibility was another recurring trend with Priscilla. As seen on the trumpet gown with the glittery cape in the first block, and the ceremony-to-reception stunner pictured here, I was blown away by how versatile these gowns could be. Talk about getting a whole lot of bang for your buck!

One of my favorites of the show was this ball gown with a statement-making sash. The vibrant lavender was a nice change from all of the blush and peach I had seen throughout Market, and though the dress was certainly voluminous, it also had softness to it that one rarely finds in a ball gown.

Overall, Priscilla of Boston gets top marks at Market for showcasing a variety of gowns and collections for the feminine bride with a bit of edge!
