New Orleans proposal by the bayou

My partner (and now fiancé) Callie and I met in Lafayette, Louisiana in 2007 while attending the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. We began dating in October of 2010 and moved to New Orleans after I graduated in 2011. We had always talked about getting married, but never felt a push since it wasn’t legally recognized. Well that all changed!!! This past July 1st Callie and I went on a walk around Bayou St. John (one of our favorite spots in the city). I could tell Callie was acting strange but I didn’t think much of it. We sat down by the bayou and she started talking about when we first met and how she knew then that she wanted to spend the rest of her life with me. At that moment she pulled out the most GORGEOUS sapphire ring and asked me to marry her. Obviously I said YES!!! The next day we left to go to Costa Rica with her mom and sister. We returned 2 weeks later with our wedding planned! April 8th, 2017 cannot come soon enough!
