Suit Style Spotlight: J.Crew for the Sporty Lesbian Bride

SSS is back, and this time we’re focusing on the more masculine bride. If a wedding dress isn’t quite your style but you're not interested in wearing menswear either, don't fear. J.Crew has a stellar selection of suits for women.

We’ve put together a dapper wedding outfit for $1,071. A gorgeous look, no tulle or bodice needed!

For this outfit, it’s all about the navy. A navy suit is a great way to create a sleek look without resorting to black. The women’s Ludlow jacket and trousers offer a rich, blue color, a menswear-inspired silhouette, and a gorgeous, high-quality wool fabric. To help escalate the look to a more formal level, we’ve paired the suit with a pair of stunning pewter suede oxfords. Up on top, we’ve selected a light blue Thomas Mason tuxedo shirt as an homage to the traditional black tie wedding. Light blue makes a stellar pair with navy, and the tuxedo detailing adds a cohesive elegance.

Finally, for accessorizing, we found a pair of pearl studs (a fun nod to typical bride garb). If pearls aren’t your thing, feel free to supplement with the jewelry of your choosing, and remember that it’s always best to keep it simple. We also borrowed a blue silk Cambridge tie from the men’s department to complete the look. When selecting a tie (especially if it’s from a men’s line), it’s best to find one in a skinny style to keep the your frame nice and elongated.
