Pasadena’s historic Maxwell House features stunning architectural details, rose-pink interior walls and a grand fireplace perfect for a little magic.Yanet and Iliana are a real couple with a love story that makes us think of a powerful line in “Wicked:” “Because I knew you, I have been changed for good.” Both women inspired each other to take another chance on love after previous marriages and everyone in the room could feel their incredible connection. And of course, we can’t forget their little dog, too! Who needs Toto when you have Penny the Pomeranian in her own pink dress and pearls?Yanet wore a pink chiffon dress and a stunning crown that was classic Glinda style from the Wizard of Oz movie. Her starburst earrings referenced the look of her wand. Iliana’s gold-and-white jumpsuit and blazer combo gave her a modern-glam Glinda look. In a nod to Glinda’s favorite method of transportation, the bubble, whimsical balloon d\u00e9cor filled the venue. Balloons poured from the fireplace in the main hall and balloons dangling from the staircase served as a gorgeous ceremony backdrop.Guests were greeted with custom champagne bottles as welcome gifts before the festivities. The pink and gold invitation suite features subtle references like the shape of the clock from “Wicked” and a quote from “Somewhere Over the Rainbow:” “Dreams that you dare to dream really do come true”. You may recognize the famous yellow brick road and Emerald City in the chic save the dates.The cake incorporated 3D ‘bubbles’ and delicate champagne-gold petals. Custom cocktails followed the color scheme with pink shades from prickly pear and grapefruit. Flower garnishes added a nice feminine touch and rock candy stirrers brought a bit of sparkle.
