They also opened up to\u00a0People about their challenges with starting their family.\u201cWe went through nine different egg donors, which is rare,\u201d Turchin said. \u201cWe got all the way down the path of about to retrieve their eggs. Some just wouldn\u2019t produce enough eggs; some weren\u2019t good genetic matches. If you\u2019re going to be a match, you don\u2019t want to even risk it.\u201dBass also said he hopes they can provide much-needed representation for LGBTQ+ families.\u201cThere are not many great examples of gay couples having families in the public eye,\u201d he said. \u201cWe knew that we wanted to be very open and transparent with our experience because we wanted gay couples to be able to relate to us and say, \u2018Oh my gosh, we\u2019re going through that too.\u2019 Or like, \u2018Oh, now that\u2019s, hopefully, what we can do.\u2019 And give them a kind of a blueprint of how to do it.
