Cathy Connolly (D-Laramie), the state’s only openly gay elected official, listened on as her colleagues insulted the community, including Rep. Lynn Hutchings who said being gay was a choice and referencing to her ex-fiance who “decided to become straight.”However, gay rights advocates remain hopeful reflecting on the fact that, not only did the marriage equality bill lose by one vote, but the domestic partnership bill advanced in a Republican-controlled committee.“For us to come out of a committee where we’re outnumbered 8-1 is certainly a victory,” said Connolly.Photo: Facebook.com"},{"@context":"https://schema.org/","@type":"BreadcrumbList
@type":"ListItem
Marriage Equality Bill Killed in Wyoming, Domestic Partnership Advances
https://equallywed.com/marriage-equality-bill-killed-in-wyoming-domestic-partnership-advances/#breadcrumbitem"}]}]
