Although gay marriage has been legally recognized in the state since January, the paper, a daily publication with the largest circulation in the state, on Saturday defended its refusal to publish the wedding notice of Aurelio Time and Greg Gould, a New Hampshire native.  According to the Boston Globe, Union Ledger Publisher Joe McQuaid explained that while not \u201canti-gay,\u201d the newspaper is opposed to New Hampshire\u2019s marriage equality law. In a statement, McQuaid said, \u201cWhile the law sanctions gay marriage, it neither demands that churches perform them or that our First Amendment right to choose what we print be suspended.
