The couple was engaged for 11 years before they were able to celebrate their love with a masquerade wedding.“Chris proposed on my 18th birthday, way before same-sex marriage was legal,” said Twila. “Afterward she suffered from a brain aneurysm that almost took her away from me and left her an amputee. Thanks to Wish Upon a Wedding we were to able to wed.”Twila wore an A-Line princess Sweetheart asymmetrical organza wedding dress with ruffle beading sequins. Chris went for a formal wedding day look with a purple and gray ensemble and bow tie. Twila walked down the aisle with her second mom and Chris with both her parents. The wedding party included a “best chick,” “best bro,” and “bride’s squad.”Purple and gold were the colors of the reception. Guests picked up a mask to be worn at the reception.\u00a0New Orleans tradition was alive with a second line, a brass band that leads a procession down the street.
