Governor Pat McCrory, a Republican up for reelection, signed it the very same day. Thankfully, there is backlash from people with clout. This time, it’s Governor Andrew Cuomo. Direct from Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s Facebook page: “In New York, we believe that all people \u2013 regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation \u2013 deserve the same rights and protections under the law. From Stonewall to marriage equality, our state has been a beacon of hope and equality for the LGBT community, and we will not stand idly by as misguided legislation replicates the discrimination of the past. As long as there is a law in North Carolina that creates the grounds for discrimination against LGBT people, I am barring non-essential state travel to that state.” "},{"@context":"https:\/\/schema.org\/","@type":"BreadcrumbList","itemListElement":[{"@type":"ListItem","position":1,"name":"New York Governor Bans Travel to North Carolina Due to Anti-LGBT Law","item":"https:\/\/equallywed.com\/new-york-governor-bans-travel-to-north-carolina-due-to-anti-lgbt-law\/#breadcrumbitem"}]}]
