New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo improperly waived the three-day waiting period between a bill’s introduction and vote.Schneiderman claims, the Associated Press reports, the organizations suffered no harm and have no standing. Cuomo and the senate’s procedural actions are immune to judicial review.ACROSS THE PONDThe British government plans to begin pondering civil same-sex marriage, according to care2.com. Consultation is slated to start in Spring 2012. However, the campaign won’t legalize religious unions for same-sex couples or civil partnerships for non-religious heterosexuals.Lynnne Featherstone, Liberal Democrat and coalition equalities minister, made the announcement this weekend.Featherstone said the formal consultation process would begin in March, meaning the government could pass legislation for same-sex civil marriage before the 2015 general election.Prime Minister David Cameron intervened to ensure the consultation would proceed.
