The ceremony was small and intimate, featuring custom vows and participation from friends. Both Emily and Robin prepared for the ceremony at different locations, surrounded by their family. After the wedding, guests enjoyed cocktails at the restaurant while the newlyweds and their families took group photos. During the reception guests filled out cards with advice for the newlyweds, then danced the night away and took tons of silly photos with a wide variety of silly photobooth props. #ftg-154154 .tile .icon { color:#ffffff; }#ftg-154154 .ftg-items .loading-bar i { background:#fff; }#ftg-154154 .ftg-items .loading-bar { background:#fff; }#ftg-154154 .tile .icon { font-size:12px; }#ftg-154154 .tile .icon { margin: -6px 0 0 -6px; }#ftg-154154 .tile .caption-block .text-wrapper span.text { font-size:12px; }#ftg-154154 .tile .caption-block .text-wrapper span.title { font-size:14px; }#ftg-154154 .tile { background-color: transparent; }#ftg-154154 .tile .caption-block .text-wrapper span.text { color: #ffffff; }#ftg-154154 .tile .caption-block .text-wrapper span.title { color: #ffffff; }#ftg-154154 .tile .ftg-social a { color: #ffffff; }#ftg-154154 .tile .caption-block { transition-timing-function:linear; }#ftg-154154 .tile .caption-block { transition-duration:0.25s; }#ftg-154154 .tile .tile-inner:before { background-color: #000000; }#ftg-154154 .tile .tile-inner:before { background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.8); }#ftg-154154 .tile.ftg-preload { transform: scaleY(1) scaleX(1) translate(0px,0px) rotateX(0deg) rotateY(0deg); }#ftg-154154 .tile.ftg-preload { transition: all ease-out 0.5s, opacity linear 0.5s; }#ftg-154154 .tile img.item { transition-duration: 0.25s; }jQuery('#ftg-154154 img.item').removeAttr('src');jQuery(document).ready(function () {setTimeout(function () {jQuery('#ftg-154154').finalTilesGallery({minTileWidth: 250,margin: 10,loadMethod: 'sequential',nonce: '9aec70cdfa',galleryId: '154',setupFilters: true, layout: 'final',debug: false, gridSize: 25,disableGridSizeBelow: 800,allowEnlargement: true, imageSizeFactor: [ [4000, 0.9],[1024, 0.8],[768, 0.7],[640, 0.6],[320, 0.5]],selectedFilter: 'n-a'});jQuery(function () {(function () {var rel = '';jQuery('#ftg-154154 .ftg-lightbox').click(function (e) {rel = jQuery(this).attr('rel');jQuery('#ftg-154154 .ftg-current').removeClass('ftg-current');jQuery('#ftg-154154 [rel="'+rel+'"]').addClass('ftg-current');});})();});}, 0);}); From the photographer, Sarah Tew: Emily & Robin were married on a beautiful Saturday in October at Aurora, a charmingly rustic-industrial style bar and restaurant in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, featuring a tented outdoor area. They didn’t want to see one another before their ceremony, and since they also wanted to have a good chunk of time to spend on couple portraits— enough to hit some picturesque spots in Brooklyn, we decided to swap the engagement portrait session I included for a post-wedding portrait session shortly after the wedding… This enabled them to get the most time possible to enjoy the wedding celebration with friends and still have an opportunity for portraits together in their wedding clothes with picturesque backgrounds— this was a great choice that enabled them to get exactly what they wanted out of my collection, and the portrait session went beautifully down in DUMBO just 2 weekends later- see my favorites in the photo set below! On wedding day my assistant photographer and I split up for the getting ready since Robin was at their apartment with her parents as Emily was at a hotel with her mother and sisters getting ready. We met up at the venue in time to capture the details and the guests as they arrived and settled in for the celebration. Emily and Robin’s ceremony was intimate and moving, featuring a reading by a friend, vows they wrote themselves, and an officiant who knew them well. After walking back down the aisle and allowing guests to move into the bar for cocktails, they gathered their families and bridal party members for some group portraits in front of the lovely ribbons-and-lights backdrop adorning the front of the ceremony space. Then it was off to the celebration! The evening’s highlights included a series of toasts from friends and family, Emily’s father and a good friend playing a song for the couple’s first dance, and some wild moves on the dance floor enhanced by props that migrated out of the photobooth area. A great time was had by all at this fabulous wedding!
