They still hosted a romantic, spiritual geometry-themed wedding in Tampa, Florida, among friends and family.Tell us about the uniqueness of your wedding day. How did you personalize it? Our entire wedding process was an emotional, deep, meaningful, spiritually uplifting experience. The venue, The Epicenter, added nothing but magic to our spiritual and sacred geometry-themed wedding. Our wedding planner Colleen took all the stress off our shoulders and onto hers. She, along with her awesome husband Alex, took care of all our little details. Alex, who was also our DJ/entertainer, picked all the right music for the big event. He took a list from my Spotify account and nailed every single song.Mary, the venue owner, was very involved in our wedding as well. Between the three of them, they worked together and got us a great deal with our photographer Carlos Cartagena. The day of our wedding the only stress we felt was the actual nerves of speaking in front of everybody or tripping as we walked down the aisle. Having that whole amazing squad behind us every step of the way, and knowing that they had our backs and were covering every detail of our wedding day made all the difference. We didn’t have many guests, but it was just the right amount of people for our big day. The few of our friends and family there had great energy, and it really was a memorable day. We both wore white for the big day. Day wore an all-white vest, pants and bow tie outfit, and Jasmin wore the beautiful flowing white dress. All our bridesmaids and groomsmen wore a white on champagne and nude theme. All the groomsmen and Day wore all-white leather converses that made the wedding feel young and energetic.Instead of wedding gifts, we accepted wedding donations for after expenses of the sudden change of date. Our original date was for April 2018 but with the recent elections and after sudden attempts to take away LGBTQ+ rights all over the country, we decided to move it to April 2017, leaving us less than six months to make it all happen. What did you serve for dinner? We had an all Hispanic menu, consisting of Pasteles, Rellenos de Papa (stuffed fried potato balls) as appetizers, and rice, beans, pork, chicken, Yuca, salad and much more as our main courses. We decided to go buffet style because Hispanic people tend to eat more than one plate and we wanted everyone to have as much as they wanted.Who designed your wedding dress?Jasmin’s wedding dress was actually very affordable for it being such a beautiful piece. We went very savvy on the entire planning since we had only 6 months to get it done. So after some research, Jasmin managed to find a website called Light in the Box where she found the perfect dress for about $400. She was very satisfied with the material of the dress, and how accurate their sizing chart was. Day’s outfit was a combination of trips to multiple locations, such as Menswarehouse, K&G Fashion and Burlington. What style did you two choose for your rings?Being as we are a very simple couple, we both went with onyx and rose gold wedding bands. Jasmin’s small diamonds along the edges the color of her birthstone to match her engagement ring, which Day gave to her on the day of their second year anniversary when she proposed.Who made the cake topper?I honestly think the cake topper was the most difficult to find, but after a whole day of searching through multiple online platforms, we found the perfect one from an Etsy shop called SpecialDesignForYou. The two silhouettes looked a lot like us both, and the gold mirror added a perfect detail to our amazing almond vanilla cake.SEARCH FOR EQUALITY-MINDED WEDDING VENDORSVENDORSPhotographer: Carlos C.
