The Supreme Court recently rejected this appeal, declining to hear a challenge in the lower courts, which means Young will face a penalty for violating the law.In 2007, Young denied renting a room to\u00a0Diane Cervilli and Taeko Bufford, a lesbian couple, citing her religious beliefs.\u00a0Young&#8217;s case was appealed to the justices in the wake of the 2018 decision siding with a baker from Colorado who refused to make a wedding cake for a gay couple.
