We knew we were meant to take on the world together, and even though we had to wait nearly two years to get married after the engagement we are so so happy in our new married life together.\u201dThe couple chose Hawkesdene Estate, an Equally Wed Platinum Preferred Vendor, as the venue for their intimate wedding weekend with close friends and family. The ceremony took place under a canopy of crepe myrtles with a double floral arch as their altar background. Their wedding colors of white and green were accented by dusty rose and navy blue, a palate that paired well with the picturesque Hawkesdene grounds. The marriers, who both wore white wedding gowns with plunging V-necklines, finished the night with a sparkler exit line of their enthusiastic wedding guests.Equally Wed: How did you personalize your wedding?Jenna: We had to recognize our two pups! We had signature cocktails named after them: \u201cThe Riley,\u201d a spicy margarita, and \u201cThe Finley,\u201d a blackberry mule. We also had a mix of personalized treats and favors like the shower bombs that we bought through Etsy shops.What advice would you give to engaged LGBTQ+ couples?Find a place that reflects your interests. (For example, we love the outdoors and the mountains.) Also, consider a venue that allows for a full weekend, as we found that option to really make for a memorable experience for everyone!What challenges did you face as LGBTQ+ marriers planning your wedding?We initially checked out venues only to learn that they were not comfortable or open to our community.
