Their photographer, Jacquie Lew of Photo Philosophies, introduced\u00a0the idea of a “trash the suit” photo shoot to the\u00a0two grooms. We love it because it’s a new tradition for gay couples that’s pioneering unchartered territory. “I felt like\u00a0the\u00a0traditional ‘trash\u00a0the\u00a0dress’ [photo shoot] is geared only toward females and focused on\u00a0the\u00a0brides,” Lew tells Equally Wed.\u00a0“I\u00a0thought, ‘Well, why do\u00a0the\u00a0girls get to have all\u00a0the\u00a0fun?’ and so I\u00a0proposed\u00a0the\u00a0idea to Ritchie and Will, who thought it was an awesome idea. Knowing we would do some exploring after\u00a0the\u00a0wedding together\u2014Ritchie and Will became such good friends to me\u2014we thought\u00a0the\u00a0perfect place to do\u00a0the\u00a0‘trash\u00a0the\u00a0suit’\u00a0was Xel Ha, which technically is a waterpark but more like acres of forest and and lakes,rivers and waterfalls. I wanted them to have a totally tropical feel.
