A Joyful Ceremony is the idea and creation of The Reverend Patt Kauffman.
The Rev. Patt Kauffman is ordained in the Lutheran Church and retired as Pastor of St. Peter’s in Port Jervis NY.
She graduated with distinction from Union Seminary in NYC, a seminary proud of its rich legacy of graduating and having on its faculty some of the most prominent religious leaders of the 20th century.
It was at Union Seminary that Rev. Kauffman learned and first put into practice the concept of the radical love and inclusion that is offered in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. The Church she served is a church that welcomes and is a diverse group of people: gay, straight, single, married, partnered, believers, and even some who aren’t so sure.
While Rev. Kauffman’s ministry continues to be ministering to the church community of the metro New York area, she understands that there are many that do not wish to have a service in a house of worship: distance from a favorite church, distance from where the reception will take place, uncomfortable with the rules and regulations of the house of worship (and we all have them!), not a member of a church, not wishing a religious service.
There are as many reasons as there are people joyfully preparing to marry!
She enthusiastically presides at wedding ceremonies for same – sex, and heterosexual couples. Interfaith ceremonies are available.
