We try to stay as out of the way as possible on your wedding day so that we can capture genuine moments that allow us to lead with your personalities.
We actively work to be an LGBTQ+ and BIPOC inclusive company and completed our LGBTQ+ Inclusive Certification through Equally Wed Pro in 2022. We work to make each of our wedding videos fit the individuality of each couple because every couple is unique and every wedding day looks and feels different.
Inclusivity and authenticity are extremely important to us as a company and we love working with couples who share those values. We chose to list on Equally Wed because we want couples who may not feel represented or included in the wedding industry to be able to easily find vendors who have their backs.

Cary Hill 1741 is an private estate, lovingly maintained for over 275 years, that specializes in intimate weddings, private parties and country retreats. Our classic 18th century manor house was purchased by Kip Kephart in 1958 and he set to work refurbishing and decorating with colonial works of art and antiques, providing an environment that honors our history while setting an incredible backdrop for your wedding day. This classic setting is also fused with an eclectic modern vibe, creating an atmosphere that is perfect for any wedding.

The venue offers multiple event sites to enhance each element of your wedding day:
- Cary Hill, the original estate home with 2 restrooms, cocktail parlor, photo hall, 2 kitchenettes, and a rustic dining room with original brick flooring
- Several options for Celebrant Green Room Suites
- Outdoor ceremony site and sculpture garden
- A Greek-inspired poolside lounge and entertaining room with 1 restroom, large changing screen, private bar, and an entertainment center with television, sound system, and video game console
- Private outdoor pool and slated pool deck
- Guest cottage with 3 bedrooms (one king, one queen and one with extra long twins), two full bathrooms, well-appointed kitchen, and living room
- Abundant parking with attendants
- 100 white padded garden chairs
- Access to Cary Hill 1741 hospitality manager from your first tour through your big day, and on-site host on the day
Cary Hill 1741 is now under the purview of The Kip Kephart Foundation, established in 1998. The Foundation carries on the tenets of charity and community support held dear by Kip. His love and support of children and animals has become his legacy. Kip funded many local organizations that tried to provide sufficient food, safer environments and necessary clothing for children in need. Event Central is an event hall and pre-decorated garden chapel. Affordable, Clean, and Beautiful. Perfect for your wedding. We are centrally located in Newport News, VA, seat up to 102, and provide an intimate wedding ceremony and reception experience all at one location. We offer many included items with our facility, such as uplights, MR & MR/MRS & MRS letters, backdrops, thrones, tables, chairs, and more. Oh, and we are close to hotels for out of town guests.
Dressings rooms are included with our event hall. A social hour area is included with our chapel.
Our venue was redecorated in January 2022 with new carpet, paint, beautiful chandeliers, and more.
Outside vendors are allowed and we can provide referrals for all the services you need to complete your planning.
The chapel, social area, event hall, lounge, kitchen, and dressing areas are all provided for only $2000. for the day.
We would love to give you a tour of our gorgeous venue and learn your vision for your wedding day. We have a “Questions and Answers” page on our website at eventcentralva.com for most questions, but would love to provide those answers in person.
