{"id":72919,"date":"2021-05-17T13:04:44","date_gmt":"2021-05-17T17:04:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/equallywed.com\/?p=72919"},"modified":"2021-05-17T13:04:44","modified_gmt":"2021-05-17T17:04:44","slug":"emotional-surprise-elopement-in-venice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/equallywed.com\/emotional-surprise-elopement-in-venice\/","title":{"rendered":"Emotional surprise elopement in Venice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"sh-dropcaps-full-square-tale\" style=\"font-size: 18px;\">A<\/span>fter years had passed since Texas couple Larry and Gil got engaged, Larry and the pair&#8217;s best friend, Katie, decided it was time to make this wedding happen.<\/p>\n<p>While they were all on a trip to Venice, Italy together, Larry and Katie decided to surprise Gil with an elopement.<\/p><div class=\"adsanity-rotating-ads ad-aligncenter\" data-ids=\"81704,81705\" data-timer=\"10\" data-align=\"aligncenter\" data-max-width=\"0\">\n<div id=\"ad-81704\" class=\"ad-840x90 adsanity-840x90 aligncenter adsanity-aligncenter\"\n><div class=\"adsanity-inner\"><iframe scrolling=\"no\" style=\"border:none;\" src=\"https:\/\/equallywed.com\/adsanity-ad\/81704\"><\/iframe><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<p>Gil thought he was on his way to a party when Larry turned around and asked if he still wanted to get married. Of course, Gil still did.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The excitement and emotion were just incredible!&#8221; said photographer Selene Pozzer of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.manisolwedding.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ManiSol Wedding Photography and Videography.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>A gondola ride led the group to the ceremony venue, a small town square anchored by a Venetian well draped in pink and yellow flowers. A guitarist and singer also awaited the couple.<\/p>\n<p>During the ceremony, a group of boats nearby were celebrating a baptism. The wedding party was\u00a0 nervous the people in the boats might shout something discriminatory about a gay wedding. But instead, something magical happened.<\/p>\n<p>Just after Larry and Gil shared their first kiss as husband and husband, the people in the boats began to sing the Italian song, &#8220;Ti Amo [I love you]&#8221; by Umberto Tozzi.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Needless to say, we were all crying a lot!&#8221; Pozzer said.<\/p>\n<p>The couple celebrated with stunning photos around the city and dinner at a
