{"id":74053,"date":"2021-07-01T14:53:41","date_gmt":"2021-07-01T18:53:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/equallywed.com\/?p=74053"},"modified":"2021-07-08T16:08:42","modified_gmt":"2021-07-08T20:08:42","slug":"10-lgbtq-couples-in-portland-oregon-tied-the-knot-in-a-special-marriage-athon-event","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/equallywed.com\/10-lgbtq-couples-in-portland-oregon-tied-the-knot-in-a-special-marriage-athon-event\/","title":{"rendered":"10 LGBTQ+ couples in Portland, Oregon tied the knot in a special Marriage-athon event"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"sh-dropcaps-full-square-tale\" style=\"font-size: 18px;\">I<\/span>n November, vendors in Portland, Oregon helped 10 lucky LGBTQ couples tie the knot.<\/p>\n<p>Each couple was thrown a free 45-minute wedding celebration in a special Marriage-athon hosted by planning company, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.keeneventspdx.com\/marriage-athon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Keen Events.\u00a0<\/a><\/p><div class=\"adsanity-rotating-ads ad-aligncenter\" data-ids=\"81704,81705\" data-timer=\"10\" data-align=\"aligncenter\" data-max-width=\"0\">\n<div id=\"ad-81704\" class=\"ad-840x90 adsanity-840x90 aligncenter adsanity-aligncenter\"\n><div class=\"adsanity-inner\"><iframe scrolling=\"no\" style=\"border:none;\" src=\"https:\/\/equallywed.com\/adsanity-ad\/81704\"><\/iframe><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<p>&#8220;We want to create something wonderful for as many couples as possible,&#8221; Keen wrote on its website advertising the event.<\/p>\n<p>Beaming couples said &#8220;I do&#8221; in a candlelit room beside a gorgeous geometric arch draped in white floral and lush greenery.<\/p>\n<p>Each participant got to decide between a bouquet, boutonniere, corsage, or floral hair comb. In addition, couples received a goodie bag filled with cake, wine, champagne, and more. Couples also got to partake in photo sessions after their ceremonies.<\/p>\n<p>Keen also invited couples to make donations to the Trevor Project&#8211;which focuses on suicide prevention for LGBTQ youth&#8211;and was able to raise $300.<\/p>\n<p>Due to COVID-19 restrictions, family and friends waited outside the venue to celebrate when the ceremonies were complete. A second photographer was stationed outside to capture the special moments couples&#8217; loved ones saw them as a married for the first time.<\/p>\n<p><a
