The gown included a detachable hoop skirt that Daniel could switch out for gold pants at the party. <a href=\"https:\/\/guillermocouture.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Guillermo Couture\u00a0<\/a>also designed Marty&#8217;s stylish emerald tuxedo.<\/p><div class=\"adsanity-rotating-ads ad-aligncenter\" data-ids=\"81704,81705\" data-timer=\"10\" data-align=\"aligncenter\" data-max-width=\"0\">\n<div id=\"ad-81704\" class=\"ad-840x90 adsanity-840x90 aligncenter adsanity-aligncenter\"\n><div class=\"adsanity-inner\"><iframe scrolling=\"no\" style=\"border:none;\" src=\"https:\/\/equallywed.com\/adsanity-ad\/81704\"><\/iframe><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<p>The decor for the big day was centered on moody and jewel toned colors. There were tall palm leaf centerpieces, charcoal velvet linens, and a black and white dance floor.<\/p>\n<h2>What was the overall vibe of the wedding?<\/h2>\n<p>The overall vibe of our wedding was a dance party.\u00a0 We spent a lot of time discussing music and what would get people up and moving.\u00a0 Ultimately, when we met with our DJ, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jonjonbattles.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jonjon Battles\u00a0<\/a>, for the first time he said our music selections sounded like what he would play at his own wedding.\u00a0 That\u2019s when we knew we had gotten it right.\u00a0\u00a0We also wanted to highlight Buffalo, so we chose the Hotel Henry, which reinvented the historic landmark H.H. Richardson building and was convenient for our guests who mostly came from out of town.\u00a0 The temple we were married in, Temple Beth Zion, also is a historic landmark, so we used the fabulous architecture of Buffalo as our backdrop.<\/p>\n<h2>What advice do you have for other LGBTQ couples planning a wedding?<\/h2>\n<p>The number one piece of advice would be not to feel constrained by heteronormativity.\u00a0 There is no play book or model, so just make sure everything reflects your love and style.\u00a0 Also, try to have fun with the planning&#8211;the more fun you have planning the wedding, the more fun your guests will have at the wedding.<\/p>\n<h2>What advice do you have for vendors working with LGBTQ couples?<\/h2>\n<p>Don\u2019t assume that the experience will be any different from working with straight couples, but don\u2019t assume it will be the same either.\u00a0 We fed off of the creativity\u00a0of our vendors and went with people who were inspired by our vision and excited to help us achieve it.<\/p>\n<p><a
