The couple also posed for photos in nearby natural areas. The wedding was filled with color, and most importantly, endless joy.<\/p>\n<h2>Tell us about your wedding! What was the inspiration behind your day?<\/h2>\n<p>Our focus was always to have a small, intimate wedding. We wanted something that was relaxed and easy-going, since we didn&#8217;t want our wedding to be something that caused us too much stress! We had about 20 people in total, most of which were immediate family members or very close friends. Aside from that, our colors were very &#8220;natural&#8221;; we went with a more rustic-feeling venue and matched our decor to it, so that everything gave off a very simple yet comfortable feel. The colors were mainly yellow, brown, and white, with just a bit of teal here and there.<\/p><div class=\"adsanity-rotating-ads ad-aligncenter\" data-ids=\"81704,81705\" data-timer=\"10\" data-align=\"aligncenter\" data-max-width=\"0\">\n<div id=\"ad-81704\" class=\"ad-840x90 adsanity-840x90 aligncenter adsanity-aligncenter\"\n><div class=\"adsanity-inner\"><iframe style=\"border:none;\" src=\"https:\/\/equallywed.com\/adsanity-ad\/81704\"><\/iframe><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<h2>How did you decorate your space for the ceremony and the reception? Was any part of the decor DIY?<\/h2>\n<p>The majority of our decor was either hand-made or thrifted, and that helped to give the space a very cozy feel! Aside from that, the venue provided some vintage and\/or rustic furniture, such as a wooden arch, beautiful red couch, tree stump side tables, etc.<\/p>\n<h2>What were the florals like in your wedding?<\/h2>\n<p>Flowers were not an important part of our wedding, and so they were used sparingly throughout the venue. We had small bouquets for the bridesmaids and the bride, and just a few flowers thrown about to add a bit of colour to the tables and aisle.<\/p>\n<h2>Did you personalize the day in any way?<\/h2>\n<p>We made all of the food ourselves, which was fantastic for an afternoon wedding. We had sandwiches, pinwheels, fruits, vegetables, meat\/cheese\/crackers, and a wide variety of desserts. It was a lot of fun to make everything ourselves and have a lot of our guests&#8217; favorite snacks, and it ended up being a huge hit.<\/p>\n<h2>How did you both choose your wedding day look?<\/h2>\n<p>Kit wanted to go with a dress that was simple and quite modest. She ended up choosing a dress that was tea-length and off-white, which she absolutely adored. Tristian wanted to go with more of a suit style. She opted for a vest, rather than a jacket, since our wedding was in the summer and it was quite hot out! To match the colors of the wedding, she went with a teal shirt to go with the rest of the outfit.<\/p>\n<h2>How did you meet? Tell us about the proposal.<\/h2>\n<p>We met online and chatted for about a month before we met in-person. Then we dated for a year until Kit proposed to Tristian! The proposal was done as a photoshoot surprise, also done with the same photographer (Tanya Plonka). Tanya had come up with the idea that Kit and Tristian would face away from one another and, on the count of three, face one another and do a silly face. They did this twice, and on the third one Kit went to one knee to surprise Tristian with a proposal. Of course, she said yes (and her shocked reaction was all captured on camera)!<\/p>\n<h2>What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?<\/h2>\n<p>To finally get to call each other &#8220;wife&#8221; after the vows were finished!<\/p>\n<h2>Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you&#8217;d like to share with other couples planning their day?<\/h2>\n<p>Make your wedding, and the planning process, as fun and enjoyable as possible. If it stresses you out too much (financially, emotionally, etc.), take a step back and think about what you could do instead. This is YOUR day, and you should enjoy it and everything leading up to it!<\/p>\n<p><a
