Lucky Devils Band

We were so fortunate to have The Lucky Devils Band play at our wedding. It was definitely one of the highlights of our night and they were truly incredible….especially our MC. They did an exceptional job and made the night an amazing party!

Great value for the money. We got a great 6-piece band. Our singers were high energy, fantastic, friendly and professional. Got a lot of compliments from the guests about the band choice. They were also great in that the improvised when the power failed and they coulnd’t use keyboard. Improv’d with acoustic guitar the exact music we were hoping for. Very impressive. They were also good emcees for us. Overall highly recommended. The service and communication throughout was really good. Really one of the highlights of our wedding. We hired a 6-piece band, which would recommend if in your budget, as having full instruments, including brass, and an extra vocalist were nice.

I can’t even remember how I happened upon the Lucky Devils Band, but as I sit here writing this about a month after our NYE wedding, I can’t imagine having had anyone BUT them play the day. Honestly, this band is not just musically worth every penny, but one of the best and most professional vendors we worked with throughout our entire wedding planning process.

I’d gone to see them at a showcase in San Francisco, which I highly recommend doing if you’re on the fence or even “band shopping.” It’s a great way to test the product and in the case of the Lucky Devils, their showcase was like a concert — and in my case, it completely cemented that this was one of the best event bands I’d ever seen. I literally hired them that evening. It was one of the earliest decisions I made in the planning process (right after venue selection), and it was easily one of the best. I’d already been interacting over email with their manager, Jefferson, so I also knew that they were very professionally run, which also meant a lot to me. They’d also sent over a terrific demo CD (for free), which also had a very pro look and feel — again, these things matter when you’re talking about forking over several thousand dollars in a deposit to someone you may or may not ever meet in person. Anyway, all of this is to say that Jefferson/the band’s responsiveness, handle on pre-wedding day logistics, and professionalism was a huge bonus to what I knew would be true: the day-of music kicked ASS. 

I actually hired the Devils to provide the music at all three “junctures” of the wedding: the ceremony, where I had a keyboard and violinist; the cocktail hour, where I had a jazz trio; and the wedding reception itself, where I had an eight-piece band. The musicians for each component of the wedding were absolutely top-notch. One thing to know is that the total band is large – it’s more like a band version of a theater company than a band, in the sense that the people you see at the showcase may not play your event. But rest assured that whoever does will know their way around their instrument. The band that played my event was wildly talented and a lot of fun. I can’t say enough about the quality of the music and their ability to keep people dancing on what was a long (but really fun) night!

Finally, I’d be remiss not to note how accommodating the band was in incorporating live versions of songs that meant a lot to us as a couple. I had specific ceremony music requests, which were beautifully rendered, and we had the band play our first dance song (which they learned, and executed to perfection). The band went above and beyond to make our day as incredible as it was, and anyone who can should hire them. They’re the best!

We recently had Lucky Devils play at our Wedding and we can’t begin to recommend them enough. Our guests are still raving about the music!

We did not want ‘the same old wedding band’ and Lucky Devils delivered. We had a six piece band including two singers, drums, guitar, keyboard, and saxophone. They played three hour-long sets. They started with music that was geared more towards our parents’ generation but played music that got everyone on the dance floor right away. Over the course of the night, the music transitioned into more contemporary songs. They were able to play a great range of music from Rolling Stones and Stevie Wonder to Justin Timberlake, Prince and Pitbull. Everything they played sounded amazing. They did a great job reading the crowd and keeping everyone engaged with the music.

We first went to listen to Lucky Devils play a showcase in San Francisco and took note of our favorite band members. They made it very easy to work with them by providing an online form that allowed us to enter our favorite and least favorite songs and all event logistics. A couple weeks before the event we had a phone call with Jefferson. He was very easy to work with and understood our goals.  On top of that, they were great value!

Jefferson provided the MC service and did an amazing job. He did not try to be the center of the event but he did a great job making introductions, including pronouncing some difficult names correctly! A couple of months before the wedding, we provided the band with a unique Beatles cover song for our first dance and they were able to learn it and did a great job with it.

The band was able to address some technical difficulties cause by our venue without any of our guests noticing. The Lucky Devils are as professional as they are extremely fun!!

A few weeks after our wedding, my mom is hoping to find a Lucky Devils show she can attend because she loved the music so much, and our friends all want to hire them for their weddings.

If you want a professional, energetic, and great sounding band that will keep your guests dancing through the night, The Lucky Devils is the band for you.

As an event coordinator, I work with a number of bands. I love working with bands because of the unique element it adds to any events. However, some can be rather challenging to coordinate with. The Lucky Devils were amazing!! So easy to work with, fluid, understanding, and true team players. On my end, the logistics of setup / breakdown / and following the timeline are critical. From my clients end, having their dance floor packed is their ultimate goal. Well, Lucky Devils succeeded in all elements. They have my highest referral and I cannot wait to use them again! We planned our wedding date around Jefferson and The Lucky Devils Band being able to play at our event (no matter how crazy this sounds…it’s so true). We heard Jefferson sing at another event about a year and half earlier and as soon as we got engaged we knew exactly who we wanted for our special day.  The 9 piece live band we hired made the event a true success – from the horns, to the piano player during cocktail hour and everything in between.  The perfect sound and lively spirit of the band kept everyone on the dance floor and the wedding vibe alive.  There was humor and personality brought to life through the music – exactly what we wanted to keep the energy up.  All of the pre-event communication was so well organized and every detail was addressed.  We had monthly calls with Jefferson leading up the event to make sure everything was on track and any outstanding action items were addressed.  He listed to our music needs and surpassed our expectations.  Everything from the processional to the last long of the evening was well throughout and created a custom flow for our amazing day.

Our wedding was two weeks ago and we are STILL getting compliments from guests about the energy, set list, and talent of the members of the Lucky Devils Band. We knew we wanted them from the start of our wedding planning and booked them before we even solidified our venue. Brian was receptive, understanding, organized, and professional. Along with the band, he captured our musical vibe and preferences exactly. We are musical folks with musically connected friends/family so this was a crucial element of our celebration. Thank you for your attention and all the fun. We will be reliving the night for a LONG time.

Everyone at our wedding raved about Lucky Devils Band, they are a must hire. They make it easy and did such a great job. It’s also great value, a DJ was nearly $3-4k and for some extra money LDB was 100% worth it. So glad we hired them.

We truly couldn’t have asked for a better band! They were great performers, their song selections matched the mood perfectly, and they even learned our first dance song so they could perform it. The music was a true highlight of the night, setting the tone and getting all our guests dancing. Having such a great live band made the whole night that much more special. Best. Band. Ever. Can’t tell you how many people came up to us and literally said “that was the best wedding band I’ve ever heard”. They were high energy, easy to coordinate with, and all around fabulous musicians. The dance floor was packed all night and they played such bangers! We booked them 1.5yrs in advance and I’m sure glad that we did!
