Vera Wang announced this week that she is launching a line of tuxedos with national retailer Men’s Wearhouse. The collection, which will be called Black by Vera Wang, will debut in Spring 2012.
Two styles will be offered: a black tuxedo with a two-button notch, grosgrain lapel with side vents and flat-front pants with a grosgrain stripe detail, and a gray tuxedo with a two-button, satin edge notch lapel with side vents and classic flat-front pants. Both styles will be available in standard fit, slim fit and big & tall sizes. Rental prices will start at $219.99 for the complete outfit.
“For more than twenty years, I have shared my design vision with women around the world, so it is exciting to now have the opportunity to share that with men as well,” Vera Wang stated in a press release. “With an exceptional reputation as one the largest men’s specialty retailers, Men’s Wearhouse was a natural retail partner for the Black by Vera Wang collection.”
Throughout this past year Vera Wang has launched several bridal lines at mass market retailers, making her fashion-forward designs available to a larger audience. In February White by Vera Wang launched at David’s Bridal, where her designs are priced between $600 and $1500, and in October Love by Vera Wang, a line of engagement rings and wedding bands, launched exclusively at Zale’s.
