One highlight of your stay is the flexibility to celebrate according to your personal wishes and style. Every couple’s vision is their own, which is of utmost importance to us because we want to enhance that vision, not fit you into a predetermined model. If you feel like changing the onsite location of your ceremony on your wedding day, no worries. We’ll make it happen. From simple to extravagant, we’re always happy to customize on the spot. With both covered and open spaces, Hawkesdene is a venue for all seasons for your classic North Carolina mountain wedding. The main house, cottages, studio, bridal salon, open air pavilion, our new Reception Gallery, alpaca stable, covered bridge, fire pit, swing arbor, pergola, lawns, gardens, and out newly-built reception gallery, offer a rich variety, each one designed to make your special day a perfect day.
FACILITIES
Our expansive property offers a host of spectacular backdrops and outdoor spaces for ceremonies, all of which you can choose from before, and even on, your special day.
A very popular ceremony location is our covered bridge perched over Phillips Creek, framed by woods that change with the seasons. Our open lawn is ideal for larger groups and boasts a beautifully-designed pergola with lush floral gardens and mountain views.
Smaller, more intimate ceremonies have taken place with our llama and alpaca stable as a stunning backdrop, where you’ll see our herd of llamas and alpacas grazing in the pasture.
Meals and rehearsal dinners are held in our spacious open-air pavilion, which is attached to the main house and overlooks Phillips Creek. The pavilion includes custom-designed and matching farm tables and dining chairs, lounge furniture, a grand stone fireplace, a brand-new audio/video sound system with designated wi-fi, plus refrigerator storage for your alcohol beverages, a commercial icemaker, and food & beverage stations.
Wedding receptions take place in our newly-constructed 5,000 square-foot Reception Gallery offering a memorable wedding celebration from beginning to end. With a dedicated space alongside Colvard Creek, you can exchange your vows, and then effortlessly move to the patio where your cocktail party and appetizers begin. Transitioning inside to the reception hall your guests can tour the personal collection of the most exquisite contemporary artwork in the region and then get settled in for dinner. Whether you choose a buffet-style or plated meal created in our gourmet kitchen, your guests will not be disappointed. And when it’s time, everyone will top off the night by hitting the dancefloor and enjoying the sounds of your DJ or live band in a designated space just for them. Our smart sound and lighting systems are there to create whatever mood you prefer.
SERVICES
Hawkesdene offers venue rental for weddings, reunions and other social or corporate retreat events. Our on-site planning team and day-of coordinator will be here to ensure your event runs smoothly and according to your wishes. Our in-house culinary team is a talented bunch who provide delectable farm-to-table cuisine. We encourage you to bring your own alcohol beverages which will be refrigerated and/or stored for convenient reach at no charge.

The Hawkesdene estate main house and numerous cottages provide super-luxurious bedding, high-quality furniture, flat-screen HD television, washer & dryer, full kitchen, a variety of modern amenities, and daily housekeeping.
On-site activities include dual corn-hole sets, horseshoe courts, a cement-court basketball with netted hoop, llama and alpaca feeding, tire swings, hiking and so much more!
