Globetrotting sweethearts celebrate their 10-year anniversary with an intimate wedding in iconic Central Park.

Lisa: Cassandra and I met in Long Beach, Calif., in 2002. After years of living in the same neighborhood and never crossing paths, we unexpectedly met one night at the Out Center in Long Beach when I decided to spontaneously skip yoga class and instead met the love of my life! Over the next 10 years, we lived in several states and traveled the world together.
Inspired by New York passing same-sex marriage in the summer of 2011, and knowing that our 10-year anniversary was coming up in 2012, we decided to celebrate the decade by getting married in a romantic Central Park destination ceremony, with my mom flying in from California as witness. Officiant Elizabeth Phaire and photographer Catherine Hunsburger captured our amazing ceremony and memorable moments in Central Park at the Bethesda Fountain and Terrace.
We flew to the beautiful island of Santorini, Greece the next day for a postcard-perfect honeymoon. When we returned to our home in West Michigan, we celebrated with friends and family with a fabulous reception at the historic Livery, sharing the amazing pictures from both New York and Greece.

Eleven years after meeting and falling in love, we can’t imagine loving and sharing their lives with anyone else. Our lives have been filled with travel, good food and adventure. We feel so fortunate to have each other to do that with “for always.”
