Sabrina + Stephanie | A Sunny San Francisco Summer Wedding
Just one look at Sabrina and Stephanie’s wedding photos captured by Tara Marie Photography had us misty-eyed. The beaming love radiates off of both of them, and their happiness is contagious. The Bay Area couple have been in each other’s lives since they were kids, but didn’t realize it until later in life. While a plan for a bigger wedding celebration is still in the works, Sabrina and Stephanie didn’t want to wait any longer to legally tie the knot. In August, the tattooed sweethearts gathered their children, 7 and 5, and got hitched in a modern courthouse wedding with pops of creative touches, including kick-ass cowboy boots and bright pink flowers in the bride’s bouquet, Sabrina’s boutonnière and Stephanie’s hair. —Kirsten Ott Palladino
From Stephanie:
Sabrina and I started seeing each other in March of 2011 and became exclusive on June 13, 2011. But shortly after we started talking we came to realize that we have literally been unknowingly crossing paths since Sabrina was 11 and I was 17. I worked at a bakery and we were known by the local kids to pass out free cookies. Sabrina’s dad owned a cell phone store in the shopping center. So she happened to be one of the kids I’d pass cookies to. We actually met while we were both working at the casino. And that was the “official” beginning to OUR HAPPILY EVER AFTER.
To be honest no proposal was needed. I knew from the first moment I saw her at the casino there was something about her. It was literally like a cheesy love scene in a movie where the packed room is suddenly at a stand still, I was speechless, my heart had found its missing piece. Turns out she felt the same. Prior to us being together we were both in relationships mainly for the wrong reasons. So when we realized we had something based solely on LOVE we ran with it.
We have a 7-year-old daughter and a 5-year-old son, both from my previous marriage. Both were very much hands on when it came to planning our actual ceremony. We had our domestic partnership on October 31, 2012 and our legal marriage on August 16, 2013. We still would like a “wedding” someday. We have yet to set a date for that, but it will likely be on one of our anniversary dates. We definitely want something outdoors somewhere in the Bay Area, surrounded by our family and close friends.
