Adornment & Theory is an award winning independent jewelry store founded in 2017 by Viviana Langhoff, a fine jeweler with a mission to curate a collection of exceptional high quality jewelry with a story; all created by Black, brown, indigenous, and women identifying designers from across the globe.
“In 2017, I started my business first and foremost from a space of love…I needed to build my own table to represent my own work as well as uplift other talented + incredible POC jewelry designers. Through our in-house equity and restorative justice work, we are seeking to close the gap of representation and wage. We have a long journey ahead of us, but that is the audacity of hope.” – Viviana Langhoff
In addition to the 50+ emerging artists we represent, you can also find Viviana’s collection of engagement rings and fine jewelry in store and online, or work closely with A&T designer Viviana Langhoff to create your own one-of-a-kind bespoke jewelry piece. Consultations with one of our Design Specialists allow you to take part in each step of the creative bespoke process. From reconstructing an heirloom piece to searching for that one-of-a-kind vintage inspired engagement ring, Viviana has you covered.
Viviana Langhoff’s work is centered on the idea of heirloom. “Jewelry history, ancestry, and storytelling are all often focused around objects; I want to design work that elegantly pushes design forward while drawing on our past.” She is known for her intricate metalwork, modern bridal styles, and one-of-a-kind pieces featuring unexpected hues, antique stones, and historical reference. Borrowing from the worlds of fine art, cultural adornment, and design, her custom work appeals to the expressive and open-minded individual— those who value individuality, creative collaboration, and are unafraid to stand out.
