A Dallas, Texas, wedding for two Marvel-loving brides with a blue color scheme and Pride-inspired rainbow cake 

LaRona (she/her) and Mandy (she/her) met through a mutual friend, on a fateful night out at a seafood joint in their hometown of Dallas, Texas. They became fast friends, and after four years, realized they were meant to be together. One night while relaxing in a hot tub with their friends, someone said to Mandy, “What are you waiting for? LaRona is a catch! Marry her!” After thinking about it for a moment, about how much they love and support each other, Mandy decided to get down on her knees, in the water, and ask LaRona to marry her. The answer was: “Are you serious? Maybe? Just kidding, yes!”

And the rest is history. LaRona and Mandy married in a summer wedding that captured everything they love: the color blue, the Marvel Cinematic Universe and, of course, rainbows. The dessert table featured one cake designed to look like Thor’s hammer, in tribute to one of the couple’s favorite movie franchises, and another cake tiered with white frosting and decorated with rainbow flowers as a nod to Pride. Every aspect of the wedding party attire and reception decor featured monochromatic shades of blue, which contrasted starkly with the soft white rose and lily florals the wives chose for centerpieces and bouquets.

The brides got ready separately before meeting outside their venue for a tear-filled first look, with both of them dressed in floor-length white lace and tulle gowns. After meeting each other at the end of the aisle, LaRona and Mandy exchanged rings in a brief but emotional ceremony and sealed their vows with a kiss before joining their wedding party for photos in front of a wall of floor-to-ceiling windows looking out at the city.

Both of the newlyweds changed into short white dresses for their reception looks, making an entrance to the sounds of their guests cheering. The reception featured speeches from the wedding party and the brides themselves, as well as a classic first dance and cake-cutting. The party continued with dancing and novelty flower crowns that incorporated white flowers and rainbow-colored lights.
