Buttons can be quite stylish as a wedding detail, coming in a rainbow of colors and range of sizes—it’s just a matter of figuring out what to do with them. Here are a few wedding details that incorporate buttons:

Cookie Favors

I found these button cookies on Sugar and Meringue, a blog about baking and all things vintage. The post featured a recipe and while you could make them yourself, I would recommend hiring a professional baker to bake and package them for you. You don’t want to be DIY-ing your wedding favors a few days before your wedding.

Boutonnieres

There are so many bouts made from buttons on Etsy that a groom or broom searching for a certain color scheme or theme won’t have trouble finding what he or she is looking for, such as this red button bout by RBKCreations ($10).

Wedding Cake

A quick Google search will show you hundreds of ways you can have the baker decorate your wedding cake with buttons. Just make sure the buttons your baker uses are made from sugar and are edible—you don’t want a guest breaking a tooth on your cake. The vintage-inspired button cake shown here is by Cupcakes Couture in Manhattan Beach, Calif.

Button Bridal Bouquet

Have your bouquet, or your bridesmaids’ bouquets, made from buttons. You can have one designed to fit your specifications—size, colors, shape. I liked this one-color bouquet from KottonKandy52’s Etsy shop ($60), available in solid and multi-color arrangements.
