For many years, the classy way to arrive and leave one’s wedding was in a black or white stretch limo. (In the late ’90s, the trend was the Hummer limo.) But today’s brides, brooms and grooms can be as creative with their transportation details as they are with their other wedding details. Here are a few fun ideas that you may want to try:
Up, Up and Away
Leave for your honeymoon in a hot air balloon. After your reception, but only if it’s still light out, take a romantic ride for two and wave goodbye to your wedding guests as you float away. Ask the operator to include a bottle of champagne and toasting flutes so you can toast to your new lives too.
A Bicycle Built for Two
For eco-friendly couples, or those who are cyclists, decorate a pair of bikes with some ribbon or streamers or find a bike built for two and cycle off into the sunset together.
A Retro Ride
Rent a car and drive yourselves to your wedding night suite. You can choose a sexy sports car or something with a vintage flair in a bright “something blue” color. Purchase a “Just Married” car decorating kit or DIY it with a homemade sign, some streamers and shoes and cans tied to the rear bumper.
A Cinderella Story
For the couple looking for that fairy-tale getaway opt for a horse and carriage. You may not find a pumpkin coach but an open carriage can be just as fun with a driver and a footman in the back. Make sure there’s a cover available if it rains on your big day.
