I had the absolute pleasure of attending a private showing of the Legends collection by Romona Keveza during Bridal Market and was completely enthralled by the richness, wearability and originality of the collection. When I was greeted at the door of the Palace Hotel suite by the lovely Deanne and settled in at the end of the runway, I knew that if the collection was to be as stunning and classy as the venue, I was in for a real treat!

The Legends collection is โ€™60s-inspired, feminine and very much in line with the trend of updating classic styles with modern twists. Jacqueline Kennedy was one of Romonaโ€™s main inspirations when designing Legends, and that influence is clear in her choice of brocade fabrics, intricate laces and skirts with just the right amount of flounce. โ€œI Enjoy Being A Girlโ€ played as each model waltzed down the runway in her fun and flirty cocktail number (perfect looks for a stylish bridesmaid). A favorite detail of this set of dresses is their interesting necklines. Whether itโ€™s the boat neckline of the black lace cocktail number or the couture shaped bodice of the rose bubble-hem shortie, each piece speaks volumes about Romonaโ€™s admiration for elegance and grace.

Legendsโ€™ bridal options didnโ€™t disappoint at the show. The styles are so varied: Take the daring short lace gown with the faux one-shoulder and contrast it with the elegant peachy pink, but traditional silhouette. Romona plays up the feminine details without letting them overpower the traditional elements that a more conservative bride would appreciate.

My favorite gown of the show was hands down the L257 style (below). This gown boasts so many great, understated details, and has me thinking it might just be the โ€œultimate wedding dress.โ€ This ball gown features a strapless draped neckline and glittery rhinestone belt, which spill into a flowing skirt. It also sports pockets and a flattering sweetheart, and just floated down the runway. The last image is my favorite because it shows the incredible movement of the gownโ€”it was striking and light at the same time.

Special thanks to Deanne Moser for inviting Equally Wed to the show! If you love elegant, fashion-forward gowns with a feminine edge, Legends collection should be on your wish list for Spring 2011.
