You spend hours deciding on the reception meal, but ironically, many just-married couples have very little chance to sit down and enjoy it. Between toasts and greeting guests, brides and grooms barely have a chance to take a bite of their seared salmon before being whisked to the dance floor, leaving them starved throughout the evening.
“With all the amazing food we had, we unfortunately only got to enjoy a few food items,” says Michael, who married his foodie husband Glenn in a sleek ceremony at Jacksonville, Fla.’s Apogee Lounge, where they had multiple food stations boasting mouthwatering plates. “We learned that you must have someone prepare you a full plate so you can eat!”
Kelven Book, chef at Canard, Inc. in New York City, recommends a “Supper Box,” a takeaway box for the brides or grooms to take with them when they leave in their limo (or sports car or carriage ride) and head off to the honeymoon suite. “Ask your caterer to prepare a supper box for you to enjoy in the limo on the way to the airport or hotel,” suggests Book. “Perhaps they will even disguise it as a beautifully-wrapped wedding gift!”
