You can do practically anything with a smartphone these days, and thankfully, most people have them. Wedding apps on your iPhone and Droid can be the easiest way to keep track of everything on-the-go. There are scads of apps that specialize in different wedding categories, but these five apps will help you cover the basics.
APPY COUPLE
This app, available on both Apple and Android phones, allows couples to customize and design their wedding invitations. From everything from the theme to the script, couples personalize the invites and send them electronically. (You’ll be saving the world one paperless invite at a time!) The Pride theme featured on the app includes really cute bride-bride and groom-groom cartoons.
VERA WANG ON WEDDINGS
The fabulous designer is now accessible on iPads, iPods and iPhones. More of an all-inclusive app, the program includes a scheduler, cake ideas, an interactive inspiration board, guest list manager and more. The style of bride, which will be profiled on the app, allows Vera to give her input on dresses to match with the bridal styles. I don’t know about you, but I want Vera Wang in my “wedding” corner.
OUR WEDDING APP
Since everyone has smartphones these days, this app is designed by the engaged couple for their guests to use. You can include pretty much all of the wedding information in this app, beyond the basic invite info, including pictures, directions, available cab companies and hotel information. Maybe with the app, no guest will be late (fingers crossed).
WEDDING SNAP
Everyone will be taking pictures during the wedding and reception, and this app allows guests to upload them to one common venue. Easily accessible on Apple and Android phones, this online album gives guests the opportunity to upload photos during real time and, for the few that don’t have smartphones, to upload pics from digital cameras to the album app via the website. Now everyone can share each special moment.
WEDDING BUDGET
The dreaded concept of the budget can be almost painful- so many things add up so quickly! Since you never know where you’re going to run into gotta-have-it wedding additions, this app helps you track and follow your budget. Not only does it keep your costs in one comprehensive place, but it also tracks deposits, final payments and due date for bills. Also categorized by subject like ceremony and dress, this app won’t let a big wedding bill sneak up on you.
