There’s something especially meaningful about an engagement session that feels less like a photoshoot and more like a glimpse into everyday love. Amy and Britt’s lifestyle engagement session in Decatur, Georgia, captured beautifully by Raven Shutley Studios (and Equally Wed preferred vendor!), is exactly that — a warm, intentional celebration of who they are, where they feel most at home and how they love one another.
The session began where their story unfolds most naturally: at home. From cozy couch cuddles to baking fall treats together, Amy and Britt invited Raven into the rhythm of their everyday life. Including their dogs was non-negotiable (as it should be), and the result was a series of heartfelt, joy-filled images that feel deeply personal and wonderfully real. These moments, playing a favorite board game, laughing in the kitchen, stepping outside their colorful and cheerful home, document this season of life just as it is, and that’s what makes them so powerful.

From there, the couple headed into Downtown Decatur to explore some of their favorite local spots. One of the highlights was Little Shop of Stories, a beloved independent bookstore that holds special meaning for them. Captured during Banned Book Week, the stop added another layer of authenticity and shared values to their session — curiosity, learning, and love for community-driven spaces. The images from the bookstore feel intimate and playful, grounding their love story in a place that reflects who they are.

The session wrapped up at Sceptre Brewing, a favorite neighborhood brewery with a relaxed outdoor patio and green space nearby. It was the perfect ending — a drink in hand, open air, and the ease of two people fully comfortable in each other’s presence. When the session was complete, Raven stepped away and left Amy and Britt to enjoy a fun date night together.

This Decatur engagement session is a great reminder that love doesn’t have to be posed or performative to be beautiful. Amy and Britt’s story, captured with care by Raven Shutley Studios, reflects the heart of what Equally Wed celebrates: authentic love, chosen family (including pets), and the freedom to show up exactly as you are.
We can’t wait to see what’s next for these two and their wedding day photos! ![]()
