A glam wedding-day look can mean old-Hollywood with silk sheaths that gently hug your curves—think 1930s Joan Crawford and Claudette Colbert. Or gowns adorned with crystals, rhinestones and beading that shimmer in the light. For the bride looking for a lot of sparkle, there were ball gowns and sheaths encrusted from neckline to hemline—see Ines Di Santo, Monique Lhuillier and Reem Acra. But if you’re looking for something a little more subdued, Jenny Packham and Badgley Mischka limited their beading to shoulder, neckline and waist detailing.

One of our favorite red-carpet looks was a pink and off-white to blush ombre gown by newcomer Mark Zunino. The ruching on the dress will give a girl a great hourglass shape and the side slit can show off your sexy, toned legs. Paired with a matching ombre-dyed ostrich feather bolero, you don’t get more (old-Hollywood) glam than this.

Any glam look can be completed with an ornate headpiece and fabulous shoes just as sparkly as your wedding dress. But when it comes to jewelry you may want to limit the bling to the dress and pick something that won’t distract from the gown, or catch on it.
