NSYNC star Lance Bass and husband Michael Turchin officially became fathers last week. On Friday, Bass announced the birth of their twins, Violet and Alexander, on Instagram, with an adorable photo of each baby’s footprints.
“The baby dragons have arrived!!” Bass wrote. “I can not express how much love I feel right now. Thank you for all the kind wishes. It meant a lot. Now, how do you change a diaper??! Ahhhhhhhh!”
Since then, the couple seems delighted to be settling into fatherhood. Yesterday, Bass posted a photo of himself next to both sleeping babies, along with a series of other photos of the new family. “Havenโt slept much in 5 days and Iโm covered in ick but Iโve never been so happy!” Bass wrote.
Turchin also posted photos of each child, captioning them, “New babies, who dis??”
The couple has since posted even more photos, making it clear they are madly in love with their newborns.
The couple announced they were expecting twins in May, sharing the news in a horror-style Tik Tok video. They also opened up toย People about their challenges with starting their family.
โWe went through nine different egg donors, which is rare,โ Turchin said. โWe got all the way down the path of about to retrieve their eggs. Some just wouldnโt produce enough eggs; some werenโt good genetic matches. If youโre going to be a match, you donโt want to even risk it.โ
Bass also said he hopes they can provide much-needed representation for LGBTQ+ families.
โThere are not many great examples of gay couples having families in the public eye,โ he said. โWe knew that we wanted to be very open and transparent with our experience because we wanted gay couples to be able to relate to us and say, โOh my gosh, weโre going through that too.โ Or like, โOh, now thatโs, hopefully, what we can do.โ And give them a kind of a blueprint of how to do it. If you want to start that family, start that family. Itโs going to be incredible.โ
Congratulations to the happy couple!
