Just get engaged? Check out these unqiue ways to tell your friends and family that it’s official.

The question has been asked and you said (or probably screamed) “Yes!,” so now it’s time to share the news of your engagement with family and friends. You can use the phone, text or send a mass email, but here are some more creative ways to let loved ones know you’re getting married.
- Have a casual engagement party: Invite friends over or tell them to meet you at a local bar and announce your engagement while everyone raises a glass to toast you and your fiance/e.
- Send an engagement-themed email: Pingg offers e-engagement announcements in dozens of fun wedding-themed designs, including some created by Martha Stewart Weddings and others, which can be customized with a photo. The one shown above is a Pingg Plus design. Pingg designs are free while Pingg Plus designs cost $10 to email up to 250 people.
- Create a video of your proposal: Some people hire photographers, or ask a friend, to hide nearby and capture the proposal on film—video or photo. Even if your photos are limited to after the question’s been popped, you can still create a short video of this very special moment. Create a free account with Animoto and you can make a 30-second video of your proposal and share it with friends and family. For longer videos, you can sign up for a monthly or annual account, starting at $5/month or $30/year.
