The latest bridal coverings in every length

Long veils such as ballerina, chapel or cathedral styles are all the rage this season. These sweeping styles add a sense of pomp and formality to the overall look and create a traditional silhouette. The ballerina veil reaches to the ankles, while the chapel veil reaches to the floor and the cathedral veil extends into a graceful train. For brides who are more traditional, wearing a long veil gives an allure and sets the traditional fairytale path. Big weddings and celeb brides are usually the ones following this trend where the focus is on the โ€œlonger the betterโ€ type of veil. Kate Middleton, The Duchess of Cambridge, wore a waltz length for her wedding in April.

Birdcage veils also are trendy. Reminiscent of 1920s starlets, these dainty veils range from full facial coverage to small pancake-styles.

Wearing a French net veil is the perfect way for you to showcase your stylish and sultry side. This classy and retro style looks best with a bob cut, polished bun, or a low side ponytail. Reminiscent of a much more dapper era (like the ’40s and ’60s), these period pieces are very debonair.

Mantilla veils are recapture popularity due to their ultra-feminine look and traditional appeal. This panache is more often than not made from lace, or skin a lace border, and drapes larger than the head like a scarf.

A flowery headpiece makes even the simplest up-do look polished and chic. These beautiful handcrafted headpieces are perfect wedding keepsakes. My favorite thing about wearing a flower headpiece is that you can wear it with a veil for a more traditional look, and then you can remove the veil during your wedding reception … and still look completely put together.

Trendy veil hats, like the one above, can make any wedding gown or suit sophisticated and chic. Not that I don’t love veils worn by themselves, but these hats just make a bolder fashion statement.

Feathers are fun, flirty and feminine enough to top off any bridal ‘do.โ€จ To wear feathers, consider taking a cue from Carrie Bradshaw’s cobalt blue plume in the Sex and the City movie. Try adding some extra drama to an already over-the-top gown with vibrant feathers secured to a couture veil. Or you can stick a few tiny peacock clips into your up-do for more subtle yet still utterly exotic flair. Cluster a few feathers next to a tousled bun or use them to highlight a hair-wrapped ponytail. Are you opting to wear your hair down? Try parting your hair to the side and then securing the loose locks with a pretty clip.
