Facebook co-founder Chris Hughes, 28, can officially update his status to “Married,” adding the site’s latest icons to his timeline.

The social media wunderkind married his longtime partner Sean Eldridge, 25, who is the founder and treasurer of Protect Our Democracy, an advocacy group based in Garrison, N.Y., that seeks campaign finance reform, as well as the president of Hudson River Ventures, an investment firm in Garrison. He was until July 2011, the political director of Freedom to Marry.
The power couple wed on Saturday, June 30 in an intimate backyard ceremony at their home in Garrison, officiated by William J. Corbett, a retired village justice of Floral Park. The special day was organized by celebrity wedding planner Bryan Rafanelli (who also designed Chelsea Clinton’s nuptials), and featured a big band jazz orchestra and vanilla wedding cake with chocolate ganache and pistachio icing.
The guest list read as a Who’s Who list in politics and included Newark Mayor Cory Booker, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, Gayle King, playwright Tony Kushner, City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, Sen. Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, as well as fellow Facebook founders Mark Zuckerberg and Sean Parker.
