Claire is a 37-year old divorced mother from Nebraska who has moved to Canada for a university teaching position. Her son, David, soon joins her, and as she discovers a new life as a single mom, lesbian, and Jewish woman, David’s journey takes him through his teen years into adulthood. This true story embraces the realities of today’s world, and takes a timely look at equality, same sex marriage, and the changing American family.

My Mother’s Lesbian Jewish Wiccan Wedding is directed by Michael Kissin. Michael has been working in the Twin Cities for over 20 years as a director, actor, writer, and college educator. He directed Goats and Talley’s Folly at MJTC, and was seen at MJTC as Larry Levin in Boychik. Mike is a long-time member of Mixed Blood Theatre where he directed How to Improve Your Golf Game and A Jew on Ethiopia Street, amongst others . Other directing credits include Park Square Theatre, Theatre in the Round, Theatre L’Homme Dieu, and Minneapolis Community & Technical College.

My Mother’s Lesbian Jewish Wiccan Wedding musical director is Kevin Dutcher. In his 27 years in the Twin Cities, Kevin has directed and/or music directed 80+ productions and acted in 40 more. This is his fifth show with MJTC, music directing The Odd Potato and Chutzpah A-Go-Go, acting in Parade, and on stage as Josef Mashkan in MJTC’s acclaimed regional premiere production of Old Wicked Songs. He recently completed another season in a long list of Decembers in It’s a Wonderful Life at the St. Paul Hotel, and at Bachman’s as “Albert the Elf”. My Mother’s Lesbian Jewish Wiccan Wedding will feature Laura B. Adams, Bonni Allen, David Coral (The Magic Dreidels, My Name is Asher Lev, The Triangle Factory Fire Project, Twilight of the Golds, The Chosen), Jane Froiland, Tinia Moulder, Bryan Porter, and Matt Rein (The Triangle Factory Fire Project).

My Mother’s Lesbian Jewish Wiccan Wedding opens February 18, 2012 and plays through March 11, 2012 with performances on Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 1 pm and 7 pm. Ticket prices are $18 – $26. Group discounts are available.
