After meeting on Tinder and a two-year engagement, Disney lovers Tim and Vincent married at The Roundhouse Beacon in Beacon, New York.

When they met, “Vinn had recently been hired at a local hospital as a nurse,” the couple shared with Equally Wed, “and Tim just returned from his first semester in medical school in Grenada. Vinn actually was planning on deleting Tinder the night we matched. It was fate that Tim returned home the day that they matched on Tinder.”

The men fell in love and were engaged about two years later when Tim proposed to Vincent at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Vincent had planned on asking his boyfriend to marry him in front of the Tower of Terror. It was during the Covid pandemic, and Tim planned on asking during the ride by wearing a mask with the words “Will you marry me?”

“As luck would have it, the ride camera was not working,” the couple shared with Equally Wed, “and Tim had to spring into plan B, popping the question outside the attraction. This sparked our love for all things Disney. Since then, we have been back to Walt Disney World seven times. We have even become Disney Vacation Club members and annual passholders.”

“We met in 2019 on Tinder. Vinn had recently been hired at a local hospital as a nurse, and Tim just returned from his first semester in medical school in Grenada. Vinn actually was planning on deleting Tinder the night we matched. It was fate that Tim returned home the day that they matched on Tinder.”

“Our first date was in NYC. We went to dinner, and afterward went to see ‘Beautiful: The Carole King Musical.’ Tim had won front-row tickets in the Broadway Lottery. The date went so well that the following day they had a second one going to tour the Dia art museum in Beacon, New York.”

On their wedding day, the grooms got ready separately, preferring to do a first look with each other and also with their wedding attendants, who they called the groom squad and grooms’ gals Their custom three-piece suits from Martin Greenfield Clothiers matched perfectly with their color palette of green, white and navy. Tim’s suit was green with a sheet music inner lining. Vincent’s suit was navy with a paisley inner liner. Both grooms wore brown dress shoes and black bow ties. Mickey Mouse cufflinks incorporated the couple’s love for Disney into their attire.

Tim and Vincent’s modern wedding was a blend of Disney magic, fresh greenery and delicate, romantic touches. They personalized their wedding in a variety of ways that channeled their personalities, from an innovative take on the guest book with a wooden framed balloon atop a house, a sweet nod to the movie Up, for guests to write their well-wishes on smaller wooden balloons and place them behind the glass, a unity glass ceremony, and their Mickey Mouse wedding rings.

“The entire day was perfect,” said the couple. “For Tim, it was the best day of his life. April 15 would have been his grandma’s 98th birthday. Being able to express their love for each other on this day, surrounded by family and friends, made it the most incredible day. Even the torrential downpour that ensued just as guests arrived couldn’t damper the day.”

“From the moment we entered the reception, the party didn’t stop. Our DJ was incredible, playing music that all generations in attendance could dance to. There was not a moment, not even during dinner, that people were not on the dance floor.”

For other LGBTQ+ couples planning their weddings, Tim and Vincent have one piece of advice to impart: “Hire a wedding planner. There are so many details that go into a wedding that we were unaware of and that the Dhalia team managed flawlessly. They sent hundreds, if not thousands, of emails to our vendors and to the venue to make sure we had the most magical day.” The Equally Wed heart is a trademark of Palladino Publishing, LLC.
