Confession: I’m mildly obsessed with Twigs & Honey’s wedding accessories collections. Myra Callan’s designs of hand-stitched tulle veils, delicately hand-pressed petals of silk-and-lace headpieces and vintage-inspired belts and garters are enough to make any wedding-obsessed gal swoon and each piece is romantically captured by the talented photography of Elizabeth Messina.

I have to make a conscious effort to not feature them in every accessories round-up I write. Like I said, mildly obsessed.

My only downfall with the boutique is the pricing. Handcrafted pieces take many hours of labor, thus increasing the costs. Of course, I don’t know what I would do with, say, five veils, but trust, if they weren’t $120 a pop I would find a use for them.

So I was stoked (like, Christmas-morning-when-you-are-five stoked) when I heard that Myra and Elizabeth combined forces to create a how-to book on making twenty gorgeous accessories, similar to those you see in their online store for your wedding day.

The book includes a range of different kinds of accessories and projects that are all very accessible to the average crafter. I wanted to keep the styles consistent with the aesthetic of Twigs & Honey, but also wanted to make sure they were not too difficult to create,” explains Myra. “It was agreed early on that although Twigs & Honey is mainly known for hair adornments, that the book would showcase multiple accessory styles from necklaces, belts, earrings and more. For the actual projects, the styles were inspired by whimsy, femininity and romance. From soft floral headpieces to delicate wire pearls, I wanted the projects to be both lovely and practical.”

Just think of the possibilities! Each page is filled with Myra’s secrets, providing you with step-by-step tutorials on designing your own feather-, lace-, floral- or beaded-embellished creations.

Aptly titled Adornments, book officially hits shelves August 21 but you can pre-order your copy through Amazon $20.28. Here’s a sneak peek of what’s inside:
