The Edwardian period, also referred to as the Gilded Age, was an era infused with romance. The economy was booming with the start of industrialization, the nation was at peace before the first World War and high society members welcomed newbies with newfound wealth. The rich extravagance of the lifestyle led to elaborate weddings and several traditions we use today first began during this time period, including the processional, afternoon ceremony time and the importance placed upon a beautiful wedding gown. Gold and pastel color schemes were the most popular, while brooches, hats, gloves and embellished accessories stayed in style. Thinking of incorporating Old World flair into your big day?
