It’s a new year and it is sure to be better than ever, as we begin 2013 by adding two more states to the marriage equality club! TANGERINE TANGO

Pantone named Tangerine Tango the 2012 color of the year, and we couldn’t agree more. Shoes, bridesmaids dresses, lip glaze, ties … the list goes on. The vibrant orange hue creates a stunning addition to help make a beautiful wedding statement. If you’re looking for a post-wedding getaway outfit, check out what Vera Wang and Calvin Klein did with the gorgeous color.

FLOWER POWER

Many brides this year skipped the veil and accented their hairstyles with lovely silk flowers. In our Real Weddings, Diane and Sonya as well as Deborah and Beth chose to sport the trendy look. Hair Comes the Bride and Etsy have incredible pieces, and a quick and easy how-to will allow you to do the ‘do yourself.

BUTCH FASHION LINES

Queer fashion line Marimacho made waves this year, and we just can’t get enough. Owned and created by Crystal and Ivette Gonzáles-Alé, the couple focuses on masculine styles. They became such a hit last year that they plan to launch a made-to-measure suit line that will include suits and tuxedos, perfect for those masculine-minded brides. Another addition to lesbian fashion was Fourteen, a stylish collaboration between gay wedding planning firm 14 Stories and designer Marialexandra.

LOVELY LACE

Without a doubt, the wedding gown accent of the year has definitely been lace. Intricate long sleeves, illusion necklines, and embroidered lace edges create an ultra femme look. The graceful style has also been seen on gloves and on bowties.
