It seems LGBT couples have fared well recently in wedding contests. First, there was Phil Fung and Shawn Klein and Stephanie Figarelle and Lela McArthur, both winning two of the four slots in the Colin Cowie’s Valentine’s Day wedding event. Then just last month, Connie and Jessica won the eleven eleven Dream Wedding contest in Chicago.

When we heard that Kenmore was hosting an open call for their second season of Bridal Wave, an eight-week Web series, our ears perked up—after all, our readers tend to be very lucky when it comes to these things. Brides- and grooms-to-be can audition by submitting a short video onto Kenmore’s Facebook page through June 15, describing themselves and their wedding plans. Each week from June 16 to July 1, a contestant will be selected and featured on one of the Web shows, streaming live from the new Kenmore Craftsman Brand Live Experience in downtown Chicago. They will have the opportunity to ask leading industry insiders, such as event planner Debi Lilly, who was just named by Oprah Winfrey as one of the best in the biz, their toughest wedding planning questions.
Of course, we can all have the opportunity to learn from the experts. Bridal Wave will live stream on the brand’s Facebook page and live chat blog correspondents will be on hand to answer questions from viewers nationwide in real time.
Now for the big prize: Throughout the series, contestants will host a blog on Kenmore’s website giving and receiving advice and inspiration with readers. At the end of the series, the contestant with the most reader and viewer engagement will win a $10,000 Kenmore kitchen makeover.
Now that is a way to start the newlywed bliss!
